MOZA HGP Racing Shifter
I got this shifter with absolutely no prior knowledge of driving a manual transmission car, and man am I glad I did. This thing is so unbelievably well built, as with all of Moza’s products. The price seems to be extremely reasonable as well given the quality. I don’t know what an actual car’s shifter feels like, but this couldn’t be too far off. The movement is clunky, but smooth. I love that all the parts are metal and that I can use some force without worrying about parts breaking. It comes with some sound dampening pads too, which is a nice option but I like the sound and feel of this thing too much to cover it up. I have since learned to shift pretty well, which is extremely fun, and didn’t have to worry about damaging a friend’s car in the process.
My one criticism is that they really should have put some loctite on the shifter knob. Mine is constantly coming loose regardless of how hard you tighten it. I have also heard some people don’t like that you have to press the knob down to get into reverse and 7th gear, but that hasn’t bothered me yet.
NOTE ON CALIBRATION: They really didn't make this clear in the pithouse software. You need to calibrate this very specifically or else it gets all confused. I have found that you click the calibrate button, then press down on the shifter and move it back and forth until calibration is complete. This should sort out any issues.
